Bookastall

Terms of use

Last updated: 20 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms cover your use of bookastall.com. "We" and "us" means Yvette Lamb, a sole trader trading as Bookastall, of Woking, Surrey. You can contact us at info@bookastall.com.

By creating an account, listing a fair or paying for anything on Bookastall, you agree to these terms. If you are a consumer, nothing in them takes away your legal rights.

2. What Bookastall is

Bookastall is a directory that helps craft makers find fairs, and helps fairs find makers. We list fairs and maker profiles.

We don't run fairs, sell stalls or take stall payments. Any stall booking is an agreement between you and the organiser. Before paying a stall fee, check the fair is genuine: our guide to spotting a fake craft fair explains how. We act on reports, but we can't check every detail of every listing.

3. Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to create an account.
  • Give accurate details and keep your login private. One person per account.
  • You can delete your account at any time by emailing info@bookastall.com. If you have a paid membership, cancel it first.

4. Maker profiles

What's included. A free profile has your name, a bio of up to 300 characters, 3 photos, one link, a shop link (Etsy, Folksy, your own website and others) and the fairs you're attending. Members get a bio of up to 1,200 characters, 10 photos, 3 links plus the shop link, a Member badge, and a turn in the "Featured makers" row on the homepage. That row rotates and is labelled as member profiles.

If your membership ends, your profile stays published with the free limits. Your extra photos, links and longer bio are kept but hidden, and they come back if you rejoin.

Links. Links to Etsy, Folksy, Not On The High Street, Instagram and Facebook must be on that site. Links to your own website or other sites are checked by us before they appear. We add no tracking or affiliate codes to your links.

Your content. You keep ownership of your words and photos. You give us permission to show them on Bookastall until you remove them.

Content rules. Everything you post must be yours or used with permission, accurate, and legal. Don't post misleading claims, other people's personal details, or spam.

5. Fair listings

If you list a fair, you must have the right to list it. Keep the details accurate (dates, venue, stall fees, accessibility) and update or remove the listing if the fair changes or is cancelled. Fake, duplicate or copied listings are not allowed.

Verified organiser badges are earned through our checks. They can't be bought.

If we listed your fair before you joined, you can claim the listing and manage it yourself.

6. Reports and removals

Anyone can report a fair listing or a maker profile. We never tell the organiser or maker who reported them. When five different people report the same listing or profile, it is hidden while we look into it.

We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, if it breaks these terms. If we remove your content, we'll tell you why unless the law stops us.

7. Membership

Prices. £59 a year or £7 a month. The founding price of £49 a year is available to new members who join before 31 January 2027. You keep it for as long as your membership continues without a break.

What's included. The resource library (resources are released over time from the date you join, plus seasonal packs), alerts about new fairs 48 hours before everyone else, and the fuller maker profile in section 4. Resources are for use in your own craft business. Don't share, resell or publish them.

Renewal. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each year or month until you cancel. Before an annual membership renews, we'll email you with the date and price. If the price changes, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

Cancelling. Cancel at any time from Manage membership in your account. You keep your membership until the end of the period you've paid for, then it stops. Refunds are explained on our Refunds and cancellations page.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, we'll try again and you keep your membership for 7 days. If it's still unpaid after that, member features pause until the payment goes through.

8. Featured fairs

Featuring a fair costs £19 and lasts 14 days from payment. The fair appears at the top of search results and in the homepage featured row, labelled "Featured". Featuring buys a labelled position. It isn't an endorsement and doesn't affect verification badges or anything else about the listing. Buying again adds another 14 days.

If a featured fair is removed for breaking these terms, the featuring ends and isn't refunded.

9. Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

10. Our responsibility to you

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable.

If you use Bookastall for your business, we are not responsible for lost profits, lost business or indirect loss, and our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.

For everyone: we are not responsible for how fairs, organisers or makers act, or for money you pay to them. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. We work to keep Bookastall running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

11. Closing accounts

You can stop using Bookastall at any time. If we close a paid account for a reason other than you breaking these terms, we'll refund the unused part of your membership.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email account holders before it applies, and at least 30 days before for paid members.

13. Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, email info@bookastall.com and we'll try to put it right.
